The Board of Directors of Jamuna Bank Limited in its 223rd meeting held on 28.04.2013 has unanimously elected Kanutosh Majumder as the Chairman of the Board. He was born in a respecteble Hindu family of Noakhali in 1940. He obtained his Masters in Commerce from University of Dhaka. He is a renowned and pioneer businessman in construction sector. Mr. Kanutosh set up New Generation Construction Company Limited and it is one of the oldest and famed construction firms of the country, which is making remarkble contribution in building country’s infrastructural development. He is a Sponsor Director of Federal Insurance Company Limited. Mr. Kanutosh is a member of Dhaka Club Limited and associated with many socio-cultural organisations.

A free Medical Camp was arranged by Jamuna Bank Foundation at Pomgaon High School Field, Monohorganj, Comilla. Alhaj Nur Mohammad, chairman of Jamuna Bank Foundation presided over the program. Md. Tajul Islam MP inaugurated the camp as the chief guest. Shafiqul Alam, Managing Director of Jamuna Bank was present there as special guest. 3400 patients got treatment at the medical camp & 50 patients were selected to be operated.

Shafiqul Alam joined as Managing Director in Jamuna Bank Limited. Before joining in Jamuna Bank Mr. Alam was Additional Managing Director of UCBL. Mr. Shafiqul Alam started his banking career as Management Trainee in ANZ Grindlays Bank Limited in the year 1980 after completion of Masters of Science with honours from Dhaka University. In his 33 years successful banking career he headed important Departments and Divisions of Prime Bank Limited and First Security Islami Bank Limited and held the position SEVP and Deputy Managing Director. Mr. Shafiqul Alam has travelled widely and attended different training programs and seminar at home and abroad.

Md. Abul Shahjahan has been elevated to the post of Additional Managing Director of Jamuna Bank Limited. Mr. Shahjahan started his banking career Probationary Officer in the then United Bank Limited (presently Janata Bank Limited) in the year 1970 after completion of Masters degree in Management from Dhaka University. In his chequered 42 years banking career he headed important Departments and Divisions of Janata Bank Limited, Mutual Trust Bank Limited, Mercantile Bank Limited and Social Islami Bank Limited. He widely travelled, attended different training program and seminar at home and abroad.

The Business Conference 2013 of Jamuna Bank was held in an aristocratic hotel of Dhaka City. Md. Mahmudul Hoque, the Chairman of Jamuna Bank inaugurated the program as the chief guest. On the occasion of Biswa Ijtema-2013, Jamuna Bank Foundation arranged a medical treatment camp for the Muslims. Land registration for Jamuna Bank Medical College and Hospital has been completed in Rupgonj, Narayangonj. A program was arranged at Jamuna Bank Foundation Office for this issue. Jamuna Bank Foundation organized and financed a free eye treatment, medical camp and blanket donation program in Pakutia College Field, Tangail.
